Principal Designer

cdm-2015We work closely with our clients and their project teams to ensure compliance with the regulations. We provide other optional services, such as Site Safety Inspections, to assist our clients discharge their duty to monitor their projects during the construction phase.

We are appropriately qualified and competent to take on the new Principal Designer role for construction projects. These can be from refurbishments, new builds, extensions and machinery projects.

When we are appointed as Principal Designer, we work closely with our clients and their project teams to ensure compliance with the regulations. Generally, as part of our role on all projects, we manage the flow of Health and Safety information; co-ordinate Health and Safety aspects of design work, co-operate with all project participants and apply the “Principles of Prevention” when discharging our duties and provide the following;

Principal Contractor

NJS Safety has the experience in a wide range of construction projects from civils work to the installation of food & drink manufacturing equipment and have the necessary skills, experience and competence to undertake this key role.

We can also assist other appointed Principal Contractors with the development, implementation and auditing of site safety management systems to satisfy the requirements of CDM and other statutory requirements.

Construction H&S Advisor
Construction can become a minefield as there are many things a project needs. With NJS Safety as your project Health & Safety Advisor, we can take the burden away to ensure safety is considered at all levels of the project. From ensuring CDM compliance, carrying out competency checks, writing & approving Risk Assessments & Method Statements to auditing of the construction site.

Questionnaires / Accreditation

This is why you may find yourself completing questionnaires after questionnaires even before putting your proposal together. We have many satisfied clients who have gained accreditation with SafeContractor, CHAS, Constructionline, SMAS through our assistance.

Under CDM all parties are responsible for checking the competence of any of their appointed persons/ parties. NJS Safety can undertake CDM duty holders competency checks, checking all aspects of potential appointee’s competence and advise accordingly prior to appointments being made.
